The safer the battery, the longer the life
So in the process of using the battery, we must pay attention to the correct use of the battery, and there must be no short circuit. When installing the battery, the tools that should be used should take insulation measures. When connecting, connect the electrical appliances other than the battery first, check that there is no short circuit, and finally connect the battery. The wiring specifications should be well insulated to prevent overlap and pressure from cracking.
The use of batteries has been very common, especially in the enterprise field, batteries have been widely used, and batteries are currently the most widely used high-efficiency high-power power supply. Energy-efficient batteries will cause a short circuit due to different reasons during use, which affects the use of the entire battery.
The main reason for the short circuit of the battery: the charging current is too large, the charging voltage of a single battery exceeds 2.4V, the internal short circuit or partial discharge, the temperature rise exceeds the standard, and the valve control failure.
Battery short-circuit treatment method: reduce the charging current, lower the charging voltage, and check whether the safety valve body is blocked. Charge and discharge regularly. Many of the battery float voltage and discharge voltage in the UPS power system have been adjusted to the rated value at the factory, and the discharge current increases with the increase of the load. The load should be adjusted reasonably during use, such as controlling the computer The number of electronic equipment used. Under normal circumstances, the load should not exceed 60% of the UPS rated load. Within this range, the battery will not be over-discharged. The storage battery will lose part of its capacity due to self-discharge. Therefore, before the battery is put into use after installation, the remaining capacity of the battery should be judged according to the open circuit voltage of the battery, and then different methods should be used to recharge the battery. For spare storage batteries, supplementary charging shall be carried out every 3 months. The open circuit voltage of the battery can be measured to judge whether the battery is good or bad.
Take a 12V battery as an example. If the open circuit voltage is higher than 12.5V, it means that the battery has more than 80% energy storage. If the open circuit voltage is lower than 12.5V, it should be immediately Perform supplementary charging. If the open circuit voltage is lower than 12V, it means that the battery stores less than 20% of the electric energy, and the battery is unusable. When the battery is in a short-circuit state, its short-circuit current can reach hundreds of amperes. The stronger the short-circuit contact, the greater the short-circuit current, so all connections will generate a lot of heat, and the weaker links will generate more heat, which will melt the connection and cause a short-circuit phenomenon. The battery may locally produce explosive gas (or the explosive gas accumulated during charging). Sparks will be generated when the connection is fused, which will cause the battery to explode; if the battery is short-circuited for a short time or the current is not particularly large, the connection may not be caused There will be fusing phenomenon, but the short circuit will still cause overheating, which will damage the adhesive around the connecting strip and leave hidden dangers such as liquid leakage.
Guaranteeing the safety of using the battery is one of the lifting conditions for extending the service life!
