How to charge the car battery
When the terminal voltage is lower than the required voltage, batteries stored for a long time (more than 12 months) should be recharged. When charging, follow all the following safety recommendations (such as wearing safety glasses) to ensure personal safety.
When charging your car battery, please refer to the vehicle’s user manual and battery charger instructions, as well as the safety instructions for connecting to the battery. Remember, batteries contain sulfuric acid, which can cause severe burns and produce explosive hydrogen-oxygen. Please be sure to read the chapter'Safe Operation'.
Do not charge the battery without referring to the charger manual. In addition to the instructions of the charger manufacturer, the following precautions should be observed:
Appropriate eye, face and hand protection equipment must be worn.
The battery must be charged in a well-ventilated place.
Keep the battery level
Before connecting the wire to the battery, turn the charger and timer to the switch to Avoid danger.
Do not charge an obviously damaged or frozen battery.
Connect the charger to the battery: connect the red positive pole (+) to the positive pole (+), and the black negative pole (—) to the negative pole (—).
If the battery is still installed in the car, connect the negative pole to the engine block as a ground wire.
Make sure to turn off the ignition and all electrical accessories (if the car has a positive ground wire, please connect the positive pole to the engine block).
Make sure that the charger connected to the battery is not damaged, worn or loosened.
Set the timer, turn on the charger, and slowly increase the charging rate until the required ampere is reached.
If the battery heats up or produces strong gas or spray electrolyte, reduce the charging rate or temporarily turn off the charger.
Before removing the wire, be sure to turn the charger to the off state to prevent dangerous sparks.
